Market View Online Pty Ltd ("MVO", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have in relation to it.
This policy applies to personal data processed through the MVO platform and website (marketview.online). It covers two groups of people: platform users — employees or representatives of our client organisations who log in and use MVO — and visitors to our website.
MVO operates as a data processor in respect of any personal data your organisation submits to or stores within the platform. Your organisation is the data controller for that data. This policy principally covers personal data we process as a data controller in our own right, including account and authentication data.
The data controller responsible for your personal information is:
Market View Online Pty Ltd
ABN: 25 614 977 463
PO Box 458, Seaforth NSW 2092, Australia
[email protected]
+61 413 902 838
For privacy-related enquiries, please contact us at the address above. We aim to respond to all privacy requests within 30 days.
When your organisation creates an account for you, or when you sign in via Google SSO, we collect:
Your name and work email address (provided by your organisation)
Your Google email address (used solely to authenticate your identity via SSO — we do not store your Google password or any other Google credentials)
Your job title or role (where provided)
We store the preferences you set within the platform, including your timezone, preferred currency, and alert configurations.
We record how you use the platform to deliver services and improve your experience. This includes:
Searches you run, filters you apply, and reports you generate
Alerts you configure and exports you create
Log data including IP address, browser type, device type, and session timestamps
If you visit marketview.online without being a platform user, we collect standard web analytics data through Google Analytics (see Third Parties below). This may include your IP address, pages visited, and referral source. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individuals.
If you contact us via email or through our in-app support chat (Intercom), we retain a record of that correspondence.
We do not collect sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act (such as health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, or financial account details). We do not collect payment card information — billing is handled directly between MVO and your organisation.
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
To verify your identity and grant access to the platform, using your email address and Google SSO token.
To provide and personalise the MVO platform, using your name, email, preferences, and activity data.
To send login links, alerts, and account notices via email, using your name and email address.
To respond to enquiries and provide in-app help, using your name, email, and support correspondence.
To analyse and improve platform performance, using anonymised or aggregated activity data.
To understand website traffic patterns, using aggregated data via Google Analytics.
To meet our obligations under applicable Australian law.
We do not use your personal data for direct marketing without your consent, and we do not sell your data to third parties under any circumstances.
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, we collect and use personal information only where it is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, our functions and activities. Specifically:
We process your account and authentication data to deliver the platform services under our agreement with your organisation.
We process activity and log data to maintain platform security, improve features, and understand how the service is used — in ways you would reasonably expect.
We may retain or disclose data where required to do so by Australian law.
Where we rely on consent — for example, to send non-essential communications — you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us.
We share personal data with the following trusted service providers, who process it only as necessary to deliver their services to us. We do not authorise them to use your data for their own purposes.
Handles transactional email delivery — login links, alerts, and account notices. Receives your name and email address.
Provides website usage analytics. Receives anonymised usage data and IP address.
Powers our in-app support chat. Receives your name, email, and support conversations.
Provides security, DDoS protection, and content delivery. Receives IP address and request metadata.
Handles single sign-on authentication. Receives your Google email address for authentication verification only.
We may also disclose your personal information to law enforcement or regulatory bodies where required by law, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of MVO, our users, or the public. We will not otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties without your consent.
Some of our third-party service providers are based outside Australia. Brevo is headquartered in France, Google operates infrastructure in the United States and Ireland, and Intercom is based in the United States. Where personal data is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles that data in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, through contractual arrangements or by relying on the recipient's compliance with a comparable privacy framework.
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure, the purposes for which we process it and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
In practice, the personal data we currently hold about platform users is limited to name and work email address. When a user account is deactivated or a subscription ends, that data is moved to secure, restricted archival storage and is no longer used for authentication, service delivery, or any other active purpose.
If you would like your personal data deleted — including from archival storage — you may submit a deletion request at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. We will action deletion requests within 30 days, subject to any overriding legal retention obligations.
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the following rights:
You can request access to the personal information we hold about you. We will respond within 30 days of a verified request.
You can ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or misleading.
You can request deletion of your personal data from our active systems. We will action deletion requests within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal information, you may lodge a complaint with us directly. If we are unable to resolve your concern, you have the right to escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by phone on 1300 363 992.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before actioning a request.
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Our measures include encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit, encrypted storage for files and media assets, access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel, and infrastructure hosted in managed, enterprise-grade cloud environments.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. If you believe your data may have been compromised, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
The MVO platform is a professional B2B tool intended exclusively for use by adults in a business context. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal obligations. When we make material changes, we will notify users via email or a prominent notice within the platform at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
